What the check looks at

• Does it open and how quickly the server answers.
• Security: a working certificate (the padlock), and whether http:// sends people to the secure version.
• Phones: whether the page is set up to fit a phone screen, and whether your number is tap-to-call.
• The basics customers look for: opening hours, and a copyright year that isn't years out of date.
• Google: the page title and description people see in search results.
• Placeholders: "domain for sale", "coming soon" and empty server pages.
